About the Course


This course is a step-by-step guide on the basic principles of mind mapping. You will practice how to read a mind map and then learn how to make hand-drawn mind maps to help you to think smarter, learn faster and communicate better.

The course features a series of lessons consisting of 20 video demonstrations (2.75 hours), downloadable mind maps and text documents that you can use to make your own.

The lessons aim to inspire you with ideas about how to make your mind maps fun, creative and memorable using branch designs, shapes, colour, images and 3D.

The course also features a bonus lesson which teaches you how to count from 1 to 10 in Japanese using a mind map to study, revise and recall the information from memory.

Also, you can upload your own mind maps to the student showcase for personal feedback from me and your fellow students.

I am the founder and managing director of The Thinking Business Limited, which is a global training company specialising in thinking skills. I'm a fully qualified Buzan Licensed Instructor in Mind Mapping, Speed Reading and Memory Skills with over 25 years as a mind mapper. I was trained by and co-facilitated with the creator of Mind Maps, Tony Buzan.

Furthermore, I am a graduate of the Disney Creativity and Innovation Programme from the Disney Institute, and I am a HBDI Accredited Consultant in the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument.

When does the course start and finish?
The course is a self-paced online course so you can learn at your own pace. It features 20 video demonstrations with a total running time of 2 hours 45 minutes. However, you can watch what you want when you want!
How long do I have access to the course?
After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
If you have completed less than 15% of the course content within 30 days of purchasing the course, you can request a refund by sending me an email.
Does the course include training in Mind Mapping software?
No, this course is purely focused on teaching you how to make hand-drawn mind maps. Examples of software-generated mind maps are included in the lectures and they are produced using imindmap software.
Does the course teach me the applications of mind mapping?
This course is the basic introduction to mind mapping so you will learn how to read and make mind maps. However, the video demonstrations aim to inspire you on how to make your own mind maps fun, creative and memorable. Furthermore, I am launching a Mind Mapping Mastery online course in September 2019 which is a more detailed tutorial on how to make mind maps for brainstorming, decision making, planning, taking notes, making notes and communicating. Students who enrol in this course will receive a discount for the Mind Mapping Mastery course.
Will I get feedback from the course tutor on my mind maps?
All students can upload their mind maps to the Student Gallery section for feedback from fellow students and the course tutor. However, it is not guaranteed that the tutor will comment on all mind maps that are uploaded.
